About the eLearning Alliance

The eLearning Alliance is a membership-based organisation for anyone interested in eLearning in Scotland, including both providers and users of eLearning services.

Founded in the Spring of 2002, with seed funding from Scottish Enterprise, the Alliance was set up in recognition of new demand for online learning fuelled by increasing access to the internet. People all over the world and within Scotland have long sought out our institutions and universities for the very best in education, and this hard-won reputation presents dramatic opportunities for new ways to distribute knowledge using web-based delivery.

A global eLearning market is emerging, and the Alliance exists to place Scottish organisations at the heart of that market.

The Alliance is a company limited by guarantee, and a not-for-profit organisation. Its aim is to promote eLearning, encourage greater uptake of more and better eLearning, and to serve the interests of its members.

We offer information, advice, resources, and networking opportunities to members, and we represent their collective needs at policy level in Scotland.

The Alliance is an invaluable source of information on what’s available in eLearning in Scotland.

The Alliance’s officers are elected by the members.

The subscription fees for one year’s membership are as follows:
 £99 plus VAT  for individual
£250 plus VAT  for limited companies or organisations.

As a member you have a say (a vote) in the running of the Alliance. You have the right to publish your company details on our website, and entitled to attend members
